Heil Valley Ranch: November 2, 2010

I got home, uploaded the pics and also found a new version of movie maker. I installed it and found it operates differently than the old one (imagine that), so another learning curve.  I was planning on a making a quick and dirty movie, but I'm afraid it wasn't quick -sure it's dirty though.  I also have trouble finding good music to add.  If anyone has a better collection than I, maybe I could borrow some pieces for other hike videos?  Please let me know if you have suggestions for what I'm putting on the blog.

It was a fabulous day for a hike. Hopefully the video will convey that idea.   See the hike!

Twin Sisters: September 27, 2010

It was the best day ever for a hike - cool weather, beautiful scenery, etc.
(who took this amazing photo?)

Perfect everything!
Do you like Carols' Christmas Card Pics?

I guess the question is, does Carol? (Just edit her face out!)
Sort of reminds of a famous painting, minus the pitch fork.

Let's hope that we're still hiking in 20 years like these youngsters from Washington!
What was the question? Which question? Oh the answer question.

Rabbit Mountain Open Space: 23 August 2010

Do we have any geologists that can explain the red border formation seen on these rocks?
Local wildlife we saw along the trail today!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Carol asked for this picture to be taken. Riggghhht, Doug!
Is this what Carol did to ask for that close-up of her chewing?

Some of the days' entertainment.
Alpine flowers - the greenish-yellow are Indian Paintbrush.
Bob is on call, so here he's checking in. What a way to work.
These little fellas entertained us along the trail.
The end of another beautiful day in the mountains.
